guess who’s back, back again;
or, holy moly how the year has flown by
I forged into 2026, as I generally do, with high expectations and only the best intentions for this account.
Still, here I lie writing from an Icelandic cottage - our August honeymoon that once felt so far away suddenly almost over, when the last time I was active on this blog was in January. Oops. Back then I was allegedly working on a series on prepping my curls for my wedding day. Reader, as I’m sure you’re aware, I did not complete that series. Double oops. I also did not wear my hair curly on my wedding day. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (no regrets, more on that later).
What’s that saying about making plans and god laughing? This feels very much like that.
Iceland, on the other hand, has been incredible. We hiked up beautiful mountains to see stunning waterfalls, crawled underground to explore a 5,000 year old lava tube, stood inside an ice cave on top of an active volcano, and got in two puffin sightings despite the many naysayers who said we’d missed our window.
I won’t set a goal or promise a specific posting cadence but I will vow to post regardless of whether or not I think something is ‘perfected’ or ‘finished’. That’s the largest hurdle for literally all of us so I’m trying to listen to my own advice and stop overthinking!
I hope these past few months have been kind to you all and I’m eternally grateful for this wonderful community. <3
